Velocity carrier charges update October 2019

A devaluation has come to the Velocity frequent flyer program. Not in the form of redemption costs but the carrier charges applied when redeeming for a reward flight with your hard earned points.

We have put together the below image with changes for each class and routes.

Velocity’s low carrier charges was one of the beneficial factors of the frequent flyer program. However even with this raise they remain competitive with QANTAS’ carrier charges for equivalent flights. Please see the image below for QANTAS’ current charges for their routes.

Even with these changes to Velocity, there are still valuable redemptions to be had and it is still a valuable program to join.

If you haven’t joined Virgin Australia’s Velocity rewards program you can sign up here, it’s free. If you sign up using this link you will get a bonus 2,000 velocity points when you earn 50 points; and we will also get 1,000 points.
