This deal seems to be part of the other Velocity transfer bonus deals running currently. American Express and Velocity are offering a 20% bonus on all transfers over 2,000 points (which is the minimum) from AMEX membership rewards to Velocity. This deal is currently available until the 30th of November.
The current rate for AMEX membership rewards points to Velocity points is 2:1, which isn’t the greatest. This is mainly due to the membership rewards program being devalued earlier this year. This deal offers a good opportunity to top up your Velocity points if you are looking to make a redemption. It is probably not worth transferring unless you need to make a redemption as the AMEX points are flexible. It is often best to keep your points in flexible programs where possible so you are able to deploy points where you need the them.
