To celebrate 2020, Velocity Frequent Flyer and Flybuys are running a giveaway of Velocity points for its members. They have 201 prizes to giveaway between the 23rd of January and the 14th of February.
How to enter the giveaway?
All you need to do is transfer your Flybuys points into your Velocity account. Every 2,000 points you transfer will give you one entry into this event.
What are the prizes?
They are offering one major prize which consists of 2,020,020 velocity points. More than enough to visit some of your travel bucket list destinations in luxury. They are also providing 200 minor prizes of 2,020 Flybuys points. Not as great as the major prize, but you could transfer them into your Velocity account or get a discount on your shop.
What can you redeem 2 million Velocity points for?
A lot of Virgin Australia flights! Even flights on all their partners. And in luxury of course. Here are some examples of what 2 million Velocity points looks like in redemptions:
- You could travel on around 129 one-way business class tickets, between Sydney and Brisbane or Melbourne. That is a crazy amount of domestic business class flights!
- You could also use it on 33 one way international business class flights to Hong Kong or Tokyo. That’s in Virgin Australia’s highly regarded ‘The Business’. Amazing!
- You could also make some amazing redemptions through Virgin’s partners, like Singapore Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Etihad.
- Etihad’s The Residence might even be on the table for a points redemption. Imagine that!
Is it worth transferring your points for this giveaway?
While the major prize would be fantastic to win. It is probably only worth transferring your Flybuys points if you need to for a Velocity redemption. It would likely be better to wait until one of the many Flybuys Velocity transfer bonus deals for a guaranteed boost to your points.
